The Kimjang Festival 2022 - 19th November

The Korean British Cultural Exchange (KBCE) is thrilled to announce the final event of our 7th Anniversary of the Kingston Korea Festival 2022, the Kimjang Festival, on Saturday, November 19th, 11am - 3pm at St Georges Square, New Malden.

Kimjang is the act of making kimchi and a way for recipes to be passed down through generations. Kimchi is the national food of Korea and was traditionally produced to preserve vegetables during the winter months; consumed nationally and becoming increasingly popular worldwide. In recent years, Kimchi has become globally recognised as not only delicious but healthy food, with many nutritionists and health specialists recommending it for gut health.

The 2022 festival will take place in St Georges Square and feature activities such as kimchi stuffing, tasting, Korean cuisine and cultural events. For kimchi enthusiasts and those at the start of their culinary journey, we are hosting kimchi making sessions in St Georges Square and kimchi-tasting sessions with complementary food pairings in Bar Malden. This will include an in-depth look into the process of making different types of Kimchi and the long history and importance of the food within Korea. Each class will take place in an intimate setting; therefore, attendees have more opportunities to ask the chef questions.

Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased via Eventbrite, Here is the event link. We can't wait to see you!
